Presentation

From 11 July to 24 August, the Huberty & Breyne Gallery is inviting viewers to come and enjoy some fantastic notebook extracts. Today, Laurel works digitally for the most part, but she is offering us this opportunity to dip into her archives and go back in time – to rediscover her first Comic Strip blogs and her first albums, her digital confessions, her loves and hates, much of the material humorous and all of it aspirational, graphically speaking, whether in colour or in black and white.
Comme convenu (two self-published collections) is a process of unstitching and then stitching back together the personal and the universal. From Laurel’s début in the pages of Spirou magazine to the creation of Un crayon dans le cœur via Cerise and Marche ou rêve, hers has been one of the most singular voices of a new generation of comic strip authors.
