PARIS | Matignon - Espace rencontres

6 > 28 May 2022

Presentation

The Huberty & Breyne's Matignon gallery is delighted to be showing the work of the artist Jorge González in its Espace Rencontres from 6 to 28 May 2022.

A talented illustrator working in a distinctive style, Jorge González is perhaps best known for his graphic novels Chère Patagonie (Dupuis, 2012), Mécaniques du Fouet (Futuropolis, 2019) and La Flamme (Dupuis, 2020).

González is a master of direct colour whose other trademark qualities include narrative inventiveness and razor-sharp dialogue (or no dialogue at all, as as in many pages of of Chère Patagonie) and a unique mastery of direct or digital color.

This Paris exhibition celebrates the publication of his new album, a mysterious thriller entitled Cauchemars ex machina (Éditions Dargaud) whose darkly enigmatic storyline ? written by Thierry Smolderen ?  perfectly matches González?s sombre, shadowy drawing style.

Visitors will be treated to a choice selection of original pencil illustrations and drawings magnificently showcased by the artist himself.
