Graceful figures, silent cityscapes and towering edifices - these are the element of François Avril's formal repertoire, executed in a delicate drawing style and forming compositions that are beguilingly simple.
From the 11th of September to the 10th of October 2014, Huberty & Breyne Gallery is showcasing the artist's recent works: some fifty or so creations tirelessly exploring the theme of the city. Paris, New York and Tokyo, but also the cities of the artist's imagination, the ones he conjures into being on paper or canvas. Entitled «Konstruktion», this exhibition reveals Avril's fascination for his subject and his remarkable capacity for constantly reinventing himself.
