Presentation

Serene, distant, fragile, defiant, Luis Royo's female forms bewitch us with their beauty and sheer sensuality: these goddesses have an air of unreality, sombre and poetic, and speak to our most deeply buried fantasies and desires.
Transcendent beings that spring from the delicate intensity of the artist's drawing style, an artist inspired by the fairy tale of Beauty and the Beast - they are a wonderful mixture of the mystical and the erotic.
The Huberty & Breyne Gallery is delighted to be hosting the first French exhibition of Royo's work and showcasing a decade of creative activity through a selection of sixty works produced between 2002 and 2012.
