Philippe VUILLEMIN Vive le monde libre !

Presentation

Since the late 1970s, Philippe Vuillemin has been cultivating what he describes as his “dirty line”.
Thanks to those bold black lines that are his instant trademark, and his forays into the world of colour, the winner of the 1995 Grand Prix de la ville d’Angoulême bulldozes his way through life, giving free rein to a devastating humour that knows no normal bounds. From Hara-Kiri to Charlie Hebdo via L'Écho des savanes, this great master of satire forged a career for himself essentially in the illustrated press.
Huberty & Breyne is proud to be hosting an exhibition in Paris showing Philippe Vuillemin’s most recent drawings illustrating our times, notably those highlighting human behaviour during the Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to a selection of earlier works executed during the course of the artist’s long and productive career.
