Huberty & Breyne is delighted to announce its collaboration with the Catherine Niederhauser Gallery in Lausanne.
Their first joint exhibition sets up a conversation between the work of a father and a daughter ? François Avril ? who exhibited at the Catherine Niederhauser Gallery a decade ago ? and Gloria Avril, showing for the first time in Switzerland.
For this exhibition, French artist and illustrator François Avril (born in Paris) has chosen to show drawings in Indian ink and colour pen together with a selection of acrylics on canvas, landscapes and cityscapes that invite viewers to accompany him on a series of delightful journeys.
Gloria Avril?s contribution to the show is a series of drawings in colour pencil and watercolour devoted to the theme of ?roadhouses?, those roadside bars in North America frequently located in the middle of nowhere, on some endless highway, at the edge of the desert... ?I really like those God-forsaken places you see in the films of Jim Jarmusch, David Lynch and Dennis Hopper?, Gloria Avril tells us.
Here in Lausanne, therefore, these two highly talented artists explore a common theme ? ?the journey?.
