Dessins quotidiens et illustrations
Georg Hallensleben is first and foremost a painter and illustrator (as well as a photographer and a maker of objects and animated books). Born in Germany in 1958, he lived in Rome for 20 years before moving many years ago to Paris.
His children’s books are published in 15 different languages, and are phenomenally successful in Japan, with two series focusing on the characters of Gaspard and Lisa and another series devoted to a character named Pénélope.
This exhibition is showing a selection of illustrations from Gaspard et Lisa à Paris together with a large number of “daily drawings”, selected from among the hundreds the artist has produced since the end of 2021.
Exhibition from 12 May to 3 June 2023
Private view: Thursday 11 May, from 6.00 pm, in the presence of the artist
