A Conversation with John Vasquez Mejías on Lolita Lebrón: Portrait of a Revolutionary

A major figure in Puerto Rico's contemporary history, Lolita Lebrón is the subject of John Vasquez Mejías's new book, published by Éditions Ici-Bas. To mark the occasion, the Huberty & Breyne gallery, at its Paris | Chapon location, is presenting an exhibition of original engravings and woodblocks created for the book.

Entirely created using the woodcut technique, this book traces the life of Lolita Lebrón, a major figure in the Puerto Rican independence movement. Following the critical success of Et l'île s'embrasa, the author continues his ambitious work dedicated to the history of Puerto Rico through a powerful narrative where political commitment meets graphic excellence.

To mark the occasion, John Vasquez Mejías will be at the gallery for a book-signing on Saturday, October 24.
