Store - Exhibition - Voyelles

Presentation

This itinerant exhibition is made up of works by seventy artists from the worlds of contemporary art and the comic strip who have taken their inspiration from the first two lines of Artur Rimbaud's most famous poem:
A noir, E blanc, I rouge, U vert, O bleu : voyelles,
Je dirai quelque jour vos naissances latentes
[A black, E white, I red, U green, O blue: vowels, One day I shall tell of your mysterious origins]
It was Christian Balmier, key figure in the Mail Art movement and curator of the exhibition that provided the impetus for Quelques instants plus tard who invited these artists to respond to Rimbaud's words, with their multiple resonances.
Names of those who agreed to participate in this magnificent project include: Ben, Claude Viallat, Pat Andrea, Hervé di Rosa, Eric Liot, Speedy Graphito, Davor Vrankic, Raphaelle Ricol, Alain Declercq, Jeanne Susplugas, Ricardo Mosner, Silvio Cadelo, Axel Pahlavi, Philippe Huart, Jean-Jacques Tachdjian, Alexone, Catherine Lopez Curval, Cedrix Crespel and a great many others.
