On 13 May, the Huberty & Breyne Gallery will be auctioning two collections.
The Monsieur H. Collection contains some hundred drawings, illustrations and original plates all focusing on women. This selection offered at auction presents a personal vision – stemming from a collector’s passion – of cartoon heroines from the beginning of the 20th century up to the present day.
The Monsieur L. Collection offers a panorama of the world of the cartoon spanning the last 30 years. This selection of 100 direct-colour original plates and illustrations acquired by an enlightened collector displays the diversity of styles tackled by the 9th Art and the ways in which it has evolved between 1980 and 2010.
