Alec SEVERIN Le petit théâtre de Spirou

During the German Occupation of Belgium, the magazine Spirou was forced to cease publication. Jean Doisy, the magazin's editor in chief and a member of the Resistance, wrote puppet shows which he took around the country, with help from André Moons, who pulled the strings.
The texts of these shows have only recently come to light. Here we see them illustrated in masterly fashion by Al - aka Alec Severin - in Le Petit Théâtre de Spirou, published by Editions Dupuis.
Alain Huberty and Marc Breyne invite you to come and view these original illustrations, from 24 October to 3 November 2018, in the Espace rencontres at their Brussels gallery.
A presentation of ancient objects and original documents retracing the debut of le journal de Spirou will complete this exhibition.
