Presentation

Huberty & Breyne gallery is delighted to be offering for sale some thirty-odd illustrations by Albert Dubout, collected by an enthusiast over the course of more than forty years.
This event is simultaneously a tribute to one of the greatest illustrators of the twentieth century. It provides a unique opportunity to re-engage with the universe of an artist who had a profound influence on popular imagery and to rediscover a number of remarkable illustrations, some of them deriving from Dubout’s representations of great literary classics – Voltaire’s
Candide, Molière’s Le Malade imaginaire and Marcel Pagnol’s Topaze.
