Presentation

Alain Huberty and Marc Breyne are delighted to be hosting an exhibition in their Brussels gallery dedicated to original plates by the French artist Frederic Bezian.
Bezian studied at Brussels' Institut Saint-Luc in the early 1980s before going on to publish work in book form and in the press in both France and Belgium.
The first volume of Adam Sarlech, one of Bezian's major works, appeared in 1989 and typifies the artist's inimitable style. Set in the 19th century, the story lays the foundations for a unique universe permeated with mysteries and secrets and a macabre romanticism. The non-linear but extremely detailed narrative immerses the reader in the astonishing story of the sombre Malherbe family, illustrated by Bezian with page after page of startlingly novel graphics that are of unrivalled quality.
Visitors to the exhibition will also be able to view plates from Totentanz and Play-Boy Macchabee - a hitherto unpublished graphic novel predating Adam Sarlech - which help to trace the evolution of Bezian's graphic experiments.
