Store - Exhibition - Jeannette Pointu

Presentation

A journalist as incisive as she is empathic, Marc Wasterlain's heroine has taken the readers of Spirou magazine on a journey to the four corners of the world' And beyond!

Today, a great many comics and graphic novels deal with the political problems of our times, but Jeannette Pointu was one of the first to chart them. She is a heroine who never claimed to be able to change the course of history or to tell the reader what to think; what she does, in the course of her 20 albums, is introduce us to different ways of life and show us the difficulties encountered by the victims of geopolitical problems.

Wasterlain says: 'I would try not to be too didactic because I didn't want to annoy my readers. With Jeannette Pointu, I was hoping people would finish reading my albums feeling that they'd actually discovered something. Eureka!

For this virtual exhibition, the Huberty & Breyne Gallery are showing a number of plates from the early volumes of the saga published in the 1980s.
