50 originaux d'exception
Vente aux enchères - Millon
Presentation
The sale scheduled for 8 December will be offering fifty classic drawings and original plates of exceptionally high quality. Estimated at between 800,000 and 1 million euros by experts Alain Huberty et Marc Breyne, the lots on offer span the history of Bande Dessinée from the early years of the 20th century to the present day. The catalogue contains a selection of iconic works that have made the Ninth Art what it is and whose influence continues to be felt by contemporary comics creators.
Key works include a sequence of six panels from Hergé’s Temple du Soleil estimated at 110,000 euros. These Indian ink drawings were published daily in Le Soir newspaper in 1947 but did not appear in the album itself when it was published in 1949. Also on offer is a rare plate taken from the album Le Sceptre d’Ottokar. The plate, in Indian ink, white gouache and blue watercolour, is by Hergé and dates from 1939. It comes with a certificate from the Fondation Hergé and is estimated at 200,000 euros.
