Milan Jespers : Drawing Now, Printemps du dessin… works on paper are everywhere

Un article de Laure pour Paris Diary by Laure
The gala dinner at MAD where Lionel Sauvage did not announce his new title of President (which only became official two days later), was animated by a magician of paper, Mathias Ouvrard, from Quimper, who created little birds for every table and most guests went home with a new paper pin! Prince Amin Aga Khan was there after being celebrated in Chantilly the evening before, by Friends of the Domaine de Chantilly which he created, where the Cabinet des Dessins is now called after him, after he lent Oudry and Watteau drawings and financed the restoration of the charming rooms. Some piano was played by Iddo Bar Shai, as a teaser for the Easter week end festival when Martha Argerich will perform in “Les Coups de Coeur de Chantilly“. Meanwhile in Paris, everyone was getting ready for Drawing Now, the contemporary art show in Carreau du Temple, founded 18 years ago by Christine Phal (and now run by Joana P.R. Neves). With Pascal Neveux and Kevin Rifffault, she went further in organizing le Printemps du Dessin, which involves national monuments such as the Caves of Lascaux or the Arc de Triomphe, where drawings will be exhibited during three months. An association of old buildings and contemporary art which is very fashionable at the moment.
