Presentation
Collective road trip: with Brussels as their point of departure, forty-plus artists take us on a journey of their creative imagination.
With On the road again - a collective exhibition celebrating the universal theme of departure - this summer the Huberty & Breyne gallery is inviting viewers to engage in the experience of long-distance mind-travel. From 20 June to 19 July 2025, forty-plus artists - some established, others up-and-coming - give us their own particular vision of the journey that mixes the real and the imagined.
Multiple glimpses of escape into the wide blue yonder
Route 66, America's historic "Mother Road" highways and byways, gas stations lost in no-man's-land, lunar landscapes... Each work is a destination, each line drawn a departure. The routes these artists take - travelling in a Fiat 500, riding a bike, or setting off on foot - may be familiar or they may be fantastical. What all have in common is a total freedom of interpretation, an invitation to "escape".
When art hits the road
Whether a getaway, or a going back, the thirst for an elsewhere, or simply the need to be in motion, this collective road trip looks at our relationship with movement, freedom and memory. Combining drawings, paintings and illustrations, the exhibition unveils a mosaic of different universes where emotions, techniques and inspirations converge.
A journey charged with emotion and full of surprises
Thanks to the diversity of technique, format and style on show here, this exhibition highlights the rich variety of the collective gaze. Through drawings, paintings and illustrations, the artists take the visitor on a journey that is diverse, charged with emotion and frequently surprising.
