Presentation

From 16 June to 27 August 2022, the Huberty & Breyne’s Brussels gallery is delighted to be hosting “The Traveler”, an exhibition conceived and curated by David Merveille. The premise for the exhibition is a simple one: 50 artists, illustrators, poster designers and comic book creators were asked to design the cover of an imaginary magazine entitled The Traveler. Each cover is designed to look like a cover for the famous New Yorker magazine and to serve as an “invitation au voyage” – an invitation to visit a place dear to the artist’s heart. The gallery will be showing the covers of these 50 artists accompanied by the original work that gave rise to them, with one room devoted to the originals, in various formats and using various techniques, and more than 100 unpublished covers on display in a second room.

The poster advertising this collective exhibition is a journey in itself: François Avril, Alfred, Benjamin Bachelier, Olivier Balez, Théo Bouvier, Brüno, Christophe Chabouté, Carole Chaix, Jérémie Claeys, Dominique Corbasson, Rébecca Dautremer, Dominique David, Nicolas de Crécy, Laurent Durieux, Manuele Fior, Filippo Fontana, Philippe Geluck, Jean-Claude Götting, Jorge Gonzalez, Josse Goffin, Maran Hrachyan, Miles Hyman, Alexandra Huard, Jannin & Liberski, Martin Jarrie, Mickael Jourdan, Louis Joos, Lionel Koechlin, Alain Lachartre, Eric Lambé, Régis Lejonc, Loustal, Jeanne Macaigne, Manara, Jean-François Martin, Matteo, David Merveille, Ever Meulen, Hugues Micol, Nathalie Novi, Nylso, François Roca, Tom Schamp, Andrea Serio, Beppe Stasi, Brecht Vandenbroucke, Danijel Zezelj.
